MY STORY…
I was born listening to stories… of how my parents met, my birth and my sisters’ births, the lives of my grandparents and every Sunday we were told stories from the bible. At primary school we wrote compositions, a chance to make up our own stories.
First as a teacher, then a probation officer, I was told about children’s and adults’ lives in stories, sometimes very colourfully. Some people have a gift of dramatising their lives so that others listen and are interested.
The ability to read, gave me more opportunities to discover more stories for myself. Throughout my life, I’ve loved reading both fiction and non-fiction for pleasure.
When I had the chance of a third career, writing was an obvious choice. I exchanged listening to stories and writing factual reports making up my own stories and recounting them in poetic and prose form.

WHEN I'M NOT WRITING
I love spending time with family: husband, stepdaughter, granddaughter and my sisters.
I like gardening – flowers and veg. I spend a lot of time and money in garden centres (a favourite is Avondale nursery, Baginton).
I love meeting friends for a chat over a meal or a coffee.
I won’t mention learning French or playing the piano because I stumble over them both!
